Inspired by the Irish tale of Children of Lir – A pair of swans entwine to reveal a heart symbolising love and dedication. One of the swans is textured to give the illusion that one swan is slightly behind the other in the embrace.
Light can shine through the piece revealing a Celtic triple spiral (triskele – represents eternity). This effect is my attempt to recreate the magic of Newgrange at the Winter Solstice where the sun illuminates the chamber to spectacular effect.
The blue represents the waters where the swans swam for their 900 years together and the green represents the Land of Ireland.
This small 18mm pendant is handcrafted from Sterling Silver and translucent acrylic comes complete with a choice of 16 inch, 18 inch or 26 inch Sterling Silver chain.
Matching earrings also available.
Each piece from the Children of Lir collection is meticulously crafted with love for Irish roots, history and folklore and is hallmarked in the Assay Office at Dublin Castle.
