Children of Lir Silver Brooch by Tracy Gilbert
Inspired by the Irish tale of Children of Lir – A pair of swans entwine to reveal a heart symbolising love and dedication. One of the swans is textured while the other has a nice polish to give the illusion that one swan is behind the other in the embrace. While the story of the Children of Lir is a sad one, I like to focus on the loyalty and love the children showed each other during their time as swans (900 years in total).
This 27mm Children of Lir brooch is meticulously crafted from sterling silver with love for Irish roots, history and folklore and is hallmarked in the Assay Office at Dublin Castle. Matching earrings, pendants and bracelets also available in the collection. All pieces are also available in gold on request.
Each piece from the Children of Lir Collection comes with a story card explaining the meaning behind the design.
