2016 marks 100 years since the Easter Rising and the reading of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic on the steps of Dublin’s GPO. The seven signatories (MacDiarmada, Pearse, Ceannt, Plunkett, Clarke, Connolly and MacDonagh) of the Proclamation will be remembered for their contribution to the establishment of modern Ireland. Tracy designed this collection to show how it appears to have been their destiny to forge Ireland together.
Using one letter from each surname, if you align the surnames in just the right way, the word “IRELAND” is revealed. The word “Ireland” is painted in green or black. Each piece is crafted from Sterling Silver. The cufflinks measure 2cm x 2cm.
Each piece comes with a card explaining the meaning behind the piece.
